A wedding reception in Odisha’s capital took a dramatic turn after a woman arrived with the police and claimed the groom had deceived her with false promises of marriage. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Tension gripped a Kalyan Mandap under Dhauli Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar on Sunday night, as the woman confronted the groom during his reception.
The woman, accompanied by police, reached the venue midway through the celebrations and demanded answers. In full public view, she accused the groom of emotional exploitation and cheating. She also claimed he had taken Rs 5 lakh from her during the course of their relationship.
The confrontation caused panic amongst guests. The groom was eventually escorted from the stage and taken to the police station for questioning.
In the now-viral video, the woman can be seen thrashing and beating the groom as people intervene to stop her.
